Christopher Chadbourne Photography

ABOUT

For 20+ years, Christopher Chadbourne & Associates was one of the nation’s top museum exhibition design firms. Advocating story based exhibits, the firm’s clients included the Smithsonian, Mount Vernon and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. Three years ago, diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at age 67, I returned to my early passion for photography. In my work I embrace complexity and color, and am fascinated by the characteristics of culture and place, the nuances of human behavior, the art of composition and the power of stories.
In the past two years my work has been exhibited in galleries, museums, periodicals and international photographic festivals in Boston, New York City, South America and Europe. I was a Critical Mass Finalist, was included in the New England Photography Biennial and was 1 of 10 New England photographers selected to exhibit at the International Flash Forward Festival and the New York Photo Festival. A film of my work and 36 images were shown at the Festival Internacional de Fotografia in Brazil in 2012. Most recently my work appeared in KATALOG, the Danish magazine of film and photography and was selected for the UMaine Museum of Art's Triennial Exhibition of Contemporary Art. Two publishers are currently reviewing “STATE FAIR: the Last Living Munchkin from the Wizard of Oz and Other Stories” for book publication.
